2nd Activity

Sound's Experiments 1

In these experiments (1, 2), students and teachers will use anything in order to make a song, by common items. Our purpose is kids to become familiar with their hearing and understand how to use their ears. They will also can recognize simple sounds which have been created from different sources. Then children will connect their hearing with their other senses and they will become capable of producing sounds, like playing musical instruments! Kids will learn even more to collaborate and to cordinate their moves, because otherwise there will be cacophony.

Firstly, students should think of a sound and then try to draw it, using their sketch blocks, their brushes, their crayons, or even leaves, glue, anything. So they can finally "see" a sound or even smell it, or even more taste it. Kids imagination is endless!

See some examples from kids and one from Wassily Kandinsky.....
